Wednesday, 19 May 2010Jazz Ensemble from MS 158, Marie Curie School, Queens, NY performed for VH1 employees in Manhattan. The 24-piece ensemble played four selections, featuring several improvised solos. The school received a band grant from the Foundation in 2008.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN- VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC CELEBRATION EVENT
Thursday, 6 May 2010More than 1,100 elementary student musicians from Indianapolis Public Schools performed May 6 at Conseco Fieldhouse in celebration of the successes of a 10-year partnership between Bright House Networks, VH1 Save the Music Foundation and Indianapolis Public Schools that has restored music education programs in all IPS elementary schools.

Monday, 3 May 2010"Fantastic Five Clarinet Quintet" from John C. Daniesl Middle School in New Haven, CT performed for VH1 employees in Manhattan. The eighth grade performers started playing the clarinets when the school's instrumental program started in 2007 when the school received a grant from the Foundation. The audience was impressed with their beautiful tone, precise technique and great musicianship.

Thursday, 11 March 2010The 2010 “March with the Arts” concert sponsored by the Indiana Music Educators Association featured instrumental music performers from Indianapolis Public Schools performing publicly at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis. In conjunction with national Music in our Schools Month, the concert honored the hard work, dedication and talent of elementary, middle school and high school students throughout IPS. This concert served as a visual and musical reminder of everything that young musicians and their instructors have accomplished throughout the year and a reminder of the progressive partnership between VH1 Save the Music Foundation and Bright House Networks that has restored instrumental music education in all IPS elementary schools.
NEW YORK, NY – VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC CELEBRATION EVENT
Friday, 13 November 2009On Friday, November 13th, the cast of the hit Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES joined the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to celebrate the show’s support of music education in our nation’s schools. This past spring, ROCK OF AGES donated $30,000 to the Foundation through a month-long ticket promotion, which enabled the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to grant a full set of new musical instruments to jumpstart the music education program at PS/IS 111 in New York City this school year.

Friday, 9 October 2009Through a series of fundraising initiatives, Houlihan's raised over $54,000 to benefit VH1 Save The Music Foundation and to restore one full instrumental music program in Jersey City. Delivery of Houlihan's donation took place on October 9th at Ezra L. Nolan School in Jersey City.

Tuesday, 29 September 2009Through a series of fundraising initiatives, Cheeseburger in Paradise raised over $30,000 to benefit VH1 Save The Music Foundation and to restore one full instrumental music program in Jersey City. Delivery of Cheeseburger in Paradise donation took place on September 29th at Academy I in Jersey City. The representatives from Cheeseburger in Paradise were treated with a performance by the Academy I band, including Jimmy Buffet’s famous Cheeseburger in Paradise song.
VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC GRANT RECIPIENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ATTENDED WHITE HOUSE MUSIC SERIES
Tuesday, 21 July 2009On Tuesday, July 21st, 15 students from VH1 Save The Music Foundation grant recipient, The School District of Philadelphia participated in the White House Music Series in Washington D.C. To date, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has granted $1,180,000 worth of new musical instruments to restore music education in 45 Philadelphia public schools over the last 10 years. The Foundation will be granting $60,000 worth of new instruments to two more Philadelphia schools this Fall.
